Very game-theory flavored, mostly aimed at big, non-community systems like Uber and Airbnb.

The game theory here seems questionable to me. Unlike with movies, which cannot retaliate, the possibility of retaliation pushes ratings to the extremes of either “5” or “1”, but that doesn’t imply that the ratings are meaningless. Rather, I would assume that expectations converge on a commonly understood minimum level of quality, and if this is not met, the threat of invoking “mutually assured destruction” by leaving a “1” is credible because, to the honest person who unluckily got paired with a dishonest person, the cost of getting a rare “1” after a long string of “5”s is minimal, whereas someone who frequently gets “1”s will soon be removed from the service.
